What's Coming for 2009

Well here is my shot at this stupid blog craze. For all intents and purposes this thing can probably be blamed on a handful of completely responsible or irresponsible individuals. Most of those influences are posted to the side. With their witty banter, cool savy descriptions of races, and just some downright cool stuff related to cycling, I just felt I should throw my semi-not worthless ideas and experiences into this great World Wide Web. I know what your are thinking... Don't do it.

Well sometimes you have to make a few mistakes to figure some things out in life. Maybe mine is going to be openning my big mouth and talking crap about the wrong cycling related club, organization, cycling social niche, or gang. First off screw them all. If you are on two wheels, then let's just all call it good. Unless you are riding in the pro peleton, let's drop the 'tude. I am here to just throw some info out there and maybe entertain a couple people in the process.

The other reason for starting is because, well I don't take enough pictures. I seem to document all my new bikes pretty well, and the occassional race/ride. And those little pictures I take kind of suck. By kind of I mean if I were a Photography Major, I would be a dropout in no time or lose my scholarship, or asked to re-evaluate my education path. Well we don't have to worry about that because I already am a drop out. On another note though I am a proud graduate of Barnett's Bicycle Institute with an Intern 2 certification. Yeah again, I didn't follow quite all the way through.

Anyways I have a pretty cool project unfolding for this coming season. It happens to be a limited production time thing. I know there are already a couple of them floating out there, but I kind of wanted to document my build of this particular bike. As well as highlight key components I am choosing for the build. Also I get to work on some pretty cool bikes and would like to document those highlights as well.

Seeing as this is my first post, I wanted to let you all get a feeling for things right around new years. January is supposed to be the arrival of my new project. So let the highlights start after the first of the year. I also am getting ready to kick off training for my first long distance mountain bike race. I am rolling down to Arkansas for the second time this time to conquer (or be eaten by) the 80 mile version of the Ouachita Challenge.

So the title. I am a full time Service Tech. I wrench on bikes (mostly crap, but every now and then some super sweet rides) as well as skis, snowboards and other crap I really really don't want to mention seeing as it is an insult to my profession.

The year we are heading towards is 2009. On the Chinese calender that is the year of the Ox. OX Platinum just happens to be a bicycle tubing which is pretty awesome. So in summation, since the numerals 2 and 9 are in the corresponding year, I declare it the year of the 29er especially ones utilizing OX Platinum tubing. So Merry Holiday ChrismaNewyear. Let's get some OX! Obviously reffering to the tubing. And rep it up for True Temper rocking your faces off! This guy right over here knows everything about faces being rocked off and True Temper making his year better.
